Outreach work

We develop sexual health information resources in the Horn of African languages and disseminate them among the communities in health and community events, hostels, churches, restaurants, mosques and shops around London.

Since 2004, NPL has been developing a new initiative with the Ethiopian and Eritrean Evangelical Churches in London . This initiative is intended to increase awareness on HIV/AIDS among the congregations, to highlight the roles and responsibilities of the church minsters in preventing STI and HIV infections among their respective communities, to provide support to those who are infected and affected by HIV, and also to raise funds for asylum seekers who are not eligible for government support.

We have provided two series of sexual health workshops to Eritrean church ministers, both men and women. Another series of workshops will be provided in February 2007.
